Troubleshooting
tokendance is not found
A Cargo build does not install a global command. Run cargo run --locked -p tokendance-cli -- --help inside the repository, use the built binary’s path, or follow the local install step in Installation.
The response always starts with mock response
This is expected in the current Rust CLI. Both one-shot and interactive entry points construct the simulated provider. Setting an API key, changing settings, or running gateway init does not switch it to a real model.
--json appears in the response
Put output flags before the prompt: tokendance run --json "hello". The command treats trailing text after the first prompt argument as part of the prompt.
Settings look valid but are not applied
config validate --project . --json validates a settings file. It does not prove the CLI execution path consumes that configuration. Without --project, project settings are not loaded by the validation command.
Session list is empty
The CLI reads .tokendance-rs/sessions/ relative to the current directory. Return to the directory where the run was started. The historical TypeScript .tokendance/ session path is different.
A command from an older guide is missing
Use tokendance --help from the binary you built. The Rust preview exposes fewer commands than the old TypeScript CLI. Consult the current CLI reference and development status.
