Development status
Source baseline
The current source baseline is public default branch master, commit 780ca67, checked on October 23, 2026 for Rust preview 0.3.0-rs.0. Public CLI/core/SDK package lookups still returned 404 and no published GitHub Release was listed on that date.
| Surface | State at this baseline |
|---|---|
| Source build | Rust workspace with a tokendance CLI binary |
| CLI prompt and interactive entry | Simulated provider; local session and transcript records |
| Model adapters | Implemented in the core library; not selected by the default CLI |
| Configuration | Settings loader and validator; CLI execution does not yet apply that model configuration |
| npm distribution | Wrapper scaffolding exists; the public CLI/core/SDK package lookups returned 404 |
| GitHub Releases | No published release was listed |
Work still needed
The baseline passed all 204 Rust workspace tests, formatting, the release-plan check and a local wrapper pack/install smoke on Linux arm64. The default-branch CI run also passed those checks on Linux x64. Shell-tool tests use PowerShell; see Contributing for the dependency. These checks exercise the simulated runtime and local wrapper, not model-backed coding or a published native package.
Real model selection in the CLI, complete session restoration, working /model and /compact commands, and a verified native package distribution remain separate release work. Older TypeScript feature lists do not establish parity in the Rust CLI.
The release-readiness document describes the Rust wrapper plan. Read the source, successful build evidence, registry availability, and end-to-end behavior as separate facts.
Before relying on a release
Check the actual version and its release notes, verify the supported commands, and run a controlled task through the selected model. A successful build or a simulated response confirms the development setup; it does not establish production coding readiness.
